MATCA is perfectly located to explore some of the most iconic hikes in Romania. There are soft hikes and summit climbs, more contemplative hikes, and exacting ascents. You can fulfill your deep sense of achievement in tune with nature and your level of expertise and fitness.
Located in the Southern Carpathian Mountains, MATCA is at a short distance to the astonishing figures of the Sphinx and Babele on the Bucegi Plateau and Omu, its highest peak at 2.505 m (8,219 ft), as outstanding alpine features. Bucegi Mountain is also believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the God Zalmoxis resided in his cave.
